[2008-08-21] Lovecraftian seascape by Vladimir Kush

The night-time sprawl of a modern coastal metropolis figured as a giant glowing squid.

This painting, by annoyingly trendy Russian surrealist Vladimir Kush, should have been titled Innsmouth. Or perhaps R'lyeh. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's obviously a modern city, what with the electric lights and all. Still, c'mon: A giant bioluminescent nocturnal squid-city with the faint suggestion of a star-field? It could be an altarpiece in the Temple of Dagon. Kush's rather less interesting title is City by the Sea.
